Using Moving Pods

Pods

If you are moving, pods can offer an alternative to traditional moving companies and DIY services. Full service long distance movers can be expensive and are often overkill for many people, who do not have too many possessions to transport in the first place. With pods, you can still have a professional moving service handle your goods for you, but without the fees associated with a full service moving company.

When you use moving pods, generally the pods are dropped off at your home. You will be responsible for packing your things and loading them into the pods. Once you are done, you call the company that is renting you the pods and they will pick them up and deliver them to wherever you are moving to. Usually, pods are a little more expensive than entirely DIY options, like renting a Uhaul truck or trailer, but pods can be a lot more convenient and safe. If you are unfamiliar with driving a large trailer or truck, it may not be the safest option for you. Also, the drive is usually slow and stressful. If you pack all your things into pods and have them delivered for you, you can just get in your car and drive to your new home after your pods have been picked up.

Pods can also be convenient if you just need some extra storage space wherever you are living. Whether you have yours at your home or leave it at a storage or self storage facility, they can be a way of clearing away the clutter in your home and freeing up space. Many people have too many things for their living space, but do actually need the things that they have. Pods can help you to solve this problem.

  1. How expensive are moving pods? Are they a lot more expensive than Uhaul and similar companies, or just a little more expensive?
